Is this like the one that is missing in KZN?

W
Yes , That's correct .
Correct type but wrong aircraft - the one that's missing is ZU-PCB

Just a question to the regular contributors here: Very few night shots. Is this because you are 6 to 6 ‘ers, or there is no good shots at night or good shots at night are sh it difficult. I have seen some spectacular nightshot “opportunities” at most airports but don’t have the equipment, access or know how to capture it.

I don't care what you think of me! Unless you think I'm awesome - then you're right, carry on!

My flying is not that bad....I've never left one up there..

I mostly photograph at Rand ... and pretty much nothing happens there at night. I dont have Lanseria ramp access authority so I dont have the opportunity... otherwise I would do some night time shots. Any ramp side shots taken by me are "under escort" by a customer who wants shots of their aircraft .. or if I am paxing out of FALA which does not happen very often.

For interest .. I was at Lanseria today .. I left Sandton at exactly 3pm and arrived Lanseria at 4.10 pm .. so 1Hr10 in traffic .. my return journey was 1Hr45 due to all the traffic lights not working due to load shedding. So total of nearly 3 hours on the road. Eish .. I sometimes long for the 10 min town I come from ...ie Port Elizabeth :)

I left Lanseria (same offices you were taking photos of DAD) at 425. Got home to Douglasdale (16km) at 620 thanks to Loadshedding

To take good night shots at Lanseria you would actually need apron access, I don't have that.
A few weeks ago, I was actually considering going to Lanseria at night to check if photography from the technical area is feasible.
I might try it out next week.

I was lucky yesterday and left Lanseria at 14:00hrs and got home to Randburg without traffic delay.
