It seems tech personnel deemed not acceptable for SAX now transferred to SAA ...which operate a different fleet :?
Perhaps its a way of getting expenses out of SAX and into SAA which has greater taxpayer dollars available to spend :?
I really feel for the many hard working SAX folks who did not contribute towards the situation the airline is now in and always did their best :(

I agree Bearcat but knowing the imposing total of one SAX employee; I think that sensible employees probably knew the writing was almost always on the wall and that are surprised it has taken so long. The one I knew certainly did.

Apparently the CEO and board are holding a "state of the company address" for staff this afternoon.

The state should cut its losses here, the private sector has effectively filled the void and SAX has no markets to return to.

It’s sad, but close it down. The competent SAX employees will be absorbed by the market, albeit at more realistic salaries.

This will be SAA’s future once Comair is woken from its slumber.

The staff are largely keeping quiet on what was said, but it seems that SAX may not be able to cover their salaries at the end of the month, they are apparently working on a plan for this and will notify the staff of the final decision sometime next week.

I hear they may be in the air next week?
I certainly hope so....

Question is what happens to their air crew after 40'days of zero flying?

That’ll be sad if true - an opportunity missed to kill off one leech at least.

Luckily for the employees of SAX, your opinion is irrelevant to their future.

On the positive side, after having the CAA up all their orifices for the last 4 weeks, SAX should be the safest airline in the SA skies. If the theft and corruption is stopped, it should even be profitable, as it was until a few years ago.
