I've created this group in order for all the student to chat about the IR exam and the GEN radio exam as we all are struggeling with these exams.

Hi Patrick, would you be able to add me to the group too? Been struggling with exam so much and have a couple of questions I'd like to find out if anyone else has encountered..

I have read through this topic's postings. All I can say is that the exams at CAA are tough but if you do understand the subject/s you should be able to pass. I see that Patrick is trying to assist by creating a group, how is this going?Has any of the students that posted here passed the exam?

This is purely out of interest.

So typical of the caa, I'm sure they must've made some good money from this instruments exam.

Anyways I found this- might help.

viewtopic.php?f=265&t=202062

viewtopic.php?f=279&t=201943

The second one is a bit pricey, but much of a muchness they both seemed to of passed no problem.

Morning guys.

I don't see the need to post a topic to rant about this useless exam since so many people have complained already.
I'm sorry, but I really don't see how what the classes of fire and what Halon 1211 is suitable for has got anything to do with flying IF. Nor Iceland's weather patterns, which is ATP Met.
Out of a 100 questions on Questionbank, about 40 is IF related.

Anyway, where I need some help: What do I need to take in to the exam hall?
Not having had to write the other CAA exams, I don't know how they ask the flight planning questions, but at least one question on Questionbank gave me the idea you need a CX-2 (I don't even have one) and calculator. Can I take a Casio fx-82, or must it only be a simple non-scientific calculator?

Thanks,
Erich

The following appears on the main page of Pilotexams:
"It has come to our attention that certain individuals have made illegal and fraudulent screenshots of our questions and answers and then sold/distributed them via their Google Drives.

We have laid criminal charges of Theft, Fraud and Public Endangerment against these perpetrators at the Port Alfred SAPS Station, case number CAS 55/02/2018
"

Having a Whatsapp group, discussing (even quoting) questions and answers is all fine but screenshots and 'cut&paste' is illegal. Just be aware of how data is shared. Good luck with the exams.
