Rest in peace 8 fellow aviators. Why you were taken from us will remain beyond our comprehension, but you, your families and friends will always be in our thoughts!

Would this be the same Jenny that had the South African shop in Edinburgh called Ndebele?

Jenny would set up a small bar during festival time in Edinburgh. It was called the Shebeen and wow what a great time we would have.

My condolences to all family and friends of the deceased!

Would anyone know the name of Steven Leong's father. Not a common name! I went to school with a Tony Leong.

Hey folks

Saw this on a friends facebook page....

http://www.sky-hope.org

Looks like someone is trying to raise money to help out the effected families. if anyone is able to help I'm sure it will be greatly appreciated.
Remember that , when flying low and inverted, the rudder still works the same old way but hopefully your instructor never taught you "pull stick back, plane go up".

Please pause to remember eight South African civilians, all working for a private Aviation Company in Afghanistan who were killed in the early hours of the morning on 18 September 2012 while travelling to the Kabul International Airport. Their minibus vehicle was rammed and blown up by a female suicide bomber driving a small sedan vehicle packed with explosives. The Afghan extremist group Hezb-e-Islami later claimed responsibility for the incident saying that it was in response to an anti-Islamic video that had recently been released in the United States. The casualties in this incident were:

Christian Johannes Pretorius from Pretoria. He was 30.

Fraser Angus Carey from Johannesburg. He was 31.

Brandon Quinn Booth from Balgowan, KZN. He was 47.

Johan Abraham van Huyssteen from Port Elizabeth. He was 31.

Johan Frederick Bouchaud from Johannesburg. He was 30.

Johannes Judenis Humphries from Centurion. He was 65.

Steven Leong from Johannesburg. He was 31.

Jenny Margaret Ayris (Living in Scotland). She was 46.

Their names have not been forgotten.
