Does anyone know of a South African supplier of coloured Butyrate dope, except Comet Aviation.

I'm looking for blue and yellow.

Problem with comet is that they can only supply in 1 US gal tins of colored dope. It does not work out for a model, way to expensive.

Trevor I have sussessfully painted colour enamel over dope, it remains flexable and has the same sheen look to it

I'm happy to buy a gallon per coloured.

The issue I had with Comet is i asked for an opaque color and they give me a transparent colour.

First time I have heard of transparent dope, was all the pigment resolved in the dope? Was is an standard off the color.chart or a special mix? The standard colors.have a formula in the mix.book and usually quite accurate.

The colour should have been true blue.
It looked like the blue they mixed was for a metallic colour more like Newport blue.

Given it was the last stock they had with damaged cans and all I suspect the base used was actually a metallic base.
