Anyone been getting their paperwork back recently?
Couple weeks in and not a peep from the CAA other than the initial email acknowledging receipt of the application for renewal

Any luck? Also a few weeks in and not a word apart from email confirming receipt. How far behind do you all think they are here?

I am now 5 weeks in. Got an email a week ago saying my medical had expired. sent the same paperwork AGAIN including the CAA issued medical certificate clearly showing the medical was still valid.

How are guys flying professionally able to work if they are having to wait for this nonsense to pass?

It's disgusting!!!!!

Nothing
Was told by one instructor where I go that he is sitting at almost 11 weeks since submission and nothing

This is crazy!! - Extensions (auto) are only for two months (12 weeks) he has a week to go and then cannot fly - how does one get the two months extended - This really presents a whole bag of trouble if you should have an accident and not have a valid licence! - Or cross border and you have a lapsed licence in your bag with no proof of extension!

There must be hundreds of us out there with this same problem - What does one do?

The latest Aeroclub communique says that they (CAA) are very aware of their shortfall and are doing their best to get back on track. Not sure I know how to copy and paste the article (I am old school pen and paper) but read it if you can somewhere or maybe someone can post for us.

I only waited 11 weeks to get my PPL renewal done. =D>
I used The Courier Guy to collect mine.

1Fetch app works really well.

Had my license collected and delivered to my door in less than an hour from placing the order cost R169 to deliver to Houghton.

I used the following details when I put in collection info:

South African Civil Aviation Authority, Treur Close, Vorna Valley, Midrand, South Africa.

Licence Collections -0115451000

To collect Commercial Pilots Licence Renewal. Licence number 027XXXXXXX For (your Name)

Oh dear ...

So, I just opened my new license. Only to find that although renewed, neither of the two conversion to types, for which all relevant documents were submitted, together with my renewal application, were added to my license.
This is really a hopeless situation.

At what point do we, the collective flying community start holding the CAA accountable?

Mine was handed in on the 11th of Sept and I received a sms yesterday (Sunday?) evening to say it was ready for collection.

Mine was handed in and will be collected by Aviation Assist.
