Hello all...

Just a bit of an update (finally got back to some designing :D )

Expect a release of a small GA airfield in the Western Cape next week this time (currently being Beta Tested).

And then work is also progressing well on another small GA airfield.

Released 8)

A Gmax representation of Pearly Beach Airfield, Western Cape, South Africa with photoreal textures.

Pearly Beach airfield is a small privately owned airfield between the towns of Pearly Beach and Gansbaai in South Africa. Bearly Beach and Gansbaai are both very well known tourist spots for whale watching and even shark-cage diving with Great Whites which are regularly seen just of the coast.

The runway is aligned 30/12 and measures 838m x 9m. Even the animated windpump is included.

Very nice Fishy

I am very chuffed to see that Scenery builders still accommodate for FS9..
Yes I know she is long in the tooth but I have spend so much on addons that I cant shelf her just yet... some 15GB in Zip files alone...
And not to talk about the stability....

So until I can afford that Hyper fast PC FS9 is still gonna life on with me :D

Thx to all involved for making the scenery, I appreciated it..

P.S. Any scenery available somewhere for FAKM Kimberley in FS9 maybe ?

Cheers

Thanx for the Heidehof Airfield, Pearly Beach. I would like to expand that area bit to include the nearby Dyers Island and Uilkraalsmond lagune. I have never done something like this, but is keen to try. Can you assist me with this?

Hi Nutlang

That is mainly the reason I still fly FS9 too. I have FSX installed but almost never use it. I do have X-Plane 10 as well and use that as often as FS9, may be moving to X-Plane 11 when it comes out, but FS9 will still be my "go-to" sim for a while and as long as I am using it I will try and design for it.

Regarding Kimberley. It has been on my to do list for ages but photos have always been the problem. I have some reference photos from a trip we took there in October but have not had the time to see how "usuable" they are as I have been busy with the other projects in the limited time vailable.

But who knows, maybe this one will be done sooner rather than later (I hope) as I use that airport in FS9 quite frequently as well.

Kind regards
Kobus

Hi sqawkme

Pleasure, we took a trip down to Hermanus in November and just fell in love with the area.

Please download the program sbuilder (the latest FS9 version is 2.05) from FSDeveloper.com. This is the program that i use for things like that and there are also very nice toutorial on "making an island" and so on that I can send you. Please PM me when you have the time after installing SBuilder and we can see how I can get the tutorials to you.

Kind regards

Hi Cornell

Yes :D Dragons Peak indeed

About 70% done, unfortuantely time is a bit of an issue till around the second week of April, but I am trying my best to finish it.

Here is the main building which is now completed.

Kind regards

Hi Cornell

I dont have P3D at all so have no idea to be very honest. I know the FS9 scenery worked with FSX (to a large extend) and you could convert it to work 100% but have no idea about P3D.

I had someone who use to convert the scenery previously but as in most hobbies, work and real life takes priority and unfortunately he is no longer in Flightsimming :(

There arent any animations though so it should work as far as I understand. Heidehof had the animated windpump and animations doesnt work at all but this scenery may just. Maybe someone is willing to test it and let me know?

Good afternoon everybody

In collaboration with Morne, 2 more projects are underway (though still only in the early stages of design). Sketchup is used for these rather than Gmax as Morne is the lead designer and I only help out here and there as time allows.

First of the two projects are landmarks in Middelburg (as this is our hometown after all 8) ) Middelburg Mall and Columbus Stainless Steel Factory are both around 60% done.

The second of the two projects (and only about 15% done) is George Airport.
