Electronic Logbook & Licence Renewals

Hi Fellow Avcommers,

I have made an electronic logbook on Google sheets, just like in Excel. I want to know what the requirments are when you submit this for a licence renewal to the CAA. What are the requirments ?

not sure if you ever got a reply to this, but I have done the same for almost 20 years.

I made an excel sheet exactly the same as a CAA approved logbook (columns etc) then when you print it out it all fits perfectly on 1 A4 landscape page. (yes the writing is small) CAA just want to see on the sheet when you did your IF renewal. I always make 2 print outs, I get the instructor to sign the one sheet and date it where the IF renewal was. I also sign the sheet, the usual with licence numbers etc. So I have printed out a page with the IF renewal on in the "details of flight" before I've done my IF renewal (as I don't lug a printer around with me) then if I pass I get the instructor to just sign it.

Then I also make another sheet that has a summary on it. 6 month, 12 month, total etc. And I just sign and date that with my licence number etc.

I submit that with my IF paperwork and all is OK.
