I can give a guess.... About 350kg empty. 600kg MAUW. With that engine and P prop, should cruise
at about 100 kias...depending on rpm. Stall 45kias. I have some hours on the 170.... great aircraft!

It is faster than my J430 - at least 5 knots faster, so I'd comfortable say that it's cruise speed is at least 105 knots (Sea level)

What prop??
Standard prop - we are talking about a J170 with the 3300 motor - hence the performance better than the J430

Horses for courses boet. I have maidened lots of new J430 and J170 with Dave over the years.

I will tell you that some J430s will fly rings around this plane.

THEN there is some J430s that is just plane bloody lazy like my old J430 (old 700kg unit). That is until Len got hold of the tail feathers and the wing rigging.

Now I will bet a penny to a £ that you will lose nearve first flying her flatout at 500ft amsl before she starts complaining!

At 500 ft I had to check for 120 tas (some days very close to IAS) and at 10 000ft she just loved 118-122 tas depending on pa.

I do not have equal time ON J170 to compare but one one J170 that did run with me on XC after the tailfeather surgery was ZU-IBE.

Another 2c bump..... after about 100 hrs flying the J170, I prefer it to the J430.
If you fly only 2, it is ideal cruiser. Fast, economical with huge baggage space.
I fitted large certified tyres and even with the extra drag and weight, climb is very good. =D>
