Tyre kicker question here, but what is a Cohoe Mk1?

Thanks in advance.

Piper Colt, which has been converted into a taildragger, so it is no longer a Piper, now non type certified, the "U" in the ZS reg in the old days denoted non type certified, and work was done by a chapter of the EAA design work done by Murray Cohoe, I believe, hence the Cohoe Mk1.

The Pacer was prop swung at Krugersdorp in the 70's and as the chocks were forgotten, it apparently taxied itself into a hanger door, wrecking itself and the hanger. This wreck became an EAA chapter project, based at Whitehorse Inn, I understand, and after 20 odd years took to the sky again as a Cohoe Mk1. Since the rebuild some 1000 hours have been flown. Engine is an O320.

The syndicate has existed for a long time and had many now senior airline pilots fly this interesting aerie. Recently a few new youngsters have used her to build some hours in an affordable fashion.

She taught me to fly a tail dragger, and now have some 400 hours taildragging in this and an RV7.

Great aircraft to fly and probably the best 2 seat, tailwheel bang for your buck out there. I have about 120hrs in this aircraft , converted onto it in just over 3hrs for my initial tailwheel, it has very little vices and is simple to operate in a very well managed yet simple partnership.
