Ek gaan vir Nick mis.....

Ou Nick was maar alleen. Hy het sy vriend Steve baie gemis toe hy dood is aan kanker. Ek sal Nick se lag altyd onthou.

How old was Nick, I don't think his profile is correct? :?

Fifties?

Whirly.
Nic was 57 yes old. In Feb he would've been 58.

He had just returned from +/-120 days offshore.

I was very fortunate to have known him for about 6 years although it feels like a lifetime.

We where talking on average 5 days a week. Whatsapp.messages and some calls up to 90 min.

He was staying in St Helena bay for at least a good past 7 years.

There are so much I can tell you just many of you also know or him.

I know he enjoyed Avcom and he loved the stories/posts and Avcom family..

He was one of my best friends and will be missed.

Rest well Nick.

Just confirmed with Nic's sister - the memorial service will be on Thursday, 07/01 at 10h30, at the NG Kerk St Helena bay. Live streaming of the service will be confirmed later - with the link.
For those who cannot attend the service and as a last respect to Nic Weskus.

A few pictures that Nic sent me during his time offshore in November 2020.
I will really miss his calls at 03am in the morning. He was a light sleeper and used to call me up for a chat at all hours of the night.
He also sent pictures of the KFC he was binging on during his time at the hotel before his flight home.

Rest in Peace Nick,

In deep appreciation for all that you went through in the Operational Area of those times, and how you admirably lived your life thereafter, especially working on off-shore Angolan oil rigs. I served in Ops Protea, a little before, and truly identify with all you went through.

Rest In peace my dear brother Nick!
