Since locating the crash site on the afternoon of 09 February 2018, i have so far located and identified a few pieces of the wreck.
LH outboard flap
LH wing tip
LH horizontal stab tip
LH Belly speedbrake
RH horizontal stab centre section
Various 30mm canon rounds.

The debris field is much wider than I initially thought it would be. Speed brake was 1600m from crater. Wing tip 1150m away. Looks like aircraft went in inverted with RH wing hitting first.

I was a national serviceman seconded to 32Bn's Battle group Bravo Elint asset.I remember my anger that one of ours had been lost. I remember my hope that the report that he had ejected was true. I remember the "Kleinspan" OP reporting the enemy on the wreckage. I remember my elation at watching the ripple take flight, and the Kleinspan report that it was on target. Few realize the extreme danger that our "Vlamgatte" faced from Russian anti aircraft weapons, yet they returned again and again. Major Every's bravery has remained a smouldering coal in me for 42 years. RIP Sir.

LaserEraser, do you know who was in the Kleinspan OP on that fateful day?

Tribute to a fallen hardcore F1 driver of the historic era when the SAAF pilots were super well trained and highly talented individuals , each with a unique character , whether being a jettie , chopper jock or transport aviator .
