Engine Cooling for the Jabiru engine

Unread post by Steve » Sun Jan 01, 2017 11:31 am

This has been a topic that most Jabiru engine owners show concern and engine cooling is an important thing to ensure is done right in preserving the engine.

I notice that AeroConversions produces a baffle kit for use with the 3300 motor in the sonex aircraft......

Perhaps this is another area that the suppliers of the post Camit engine arena could also address and improve engine cooling?

Its all the same mess, why go to the hassle of making a plenum and not doing it properly .Busy with a full plenum mould for the 3300, not ducts.

He is doing a maintenance tour in Kenya at the moment, so do not expect an immediate answer.

Ok,

The mold is done, did not have the time to make the first product , will be done when I get back to Cape Town in 3 weeks. I'm optimistic that this will work. :) :) If I can drop the temps by 10 c all around its a winner.

Temps,

Between 140-162. Cylinder 2 and 3 175-177 Max being the hottest on the climb. Cylinder 2 and 3 remain the hottest in the cruise between 150-160. ( 12.6 AFR)

No too bad but plenty room for improvement.
