Tips & Tricks #4: Attaching pictures or files is really simple now.

Unread post by Roger » Tue Jan 19, 2016 8:19 pm

After our reboot, it has become even simpler to add pictures and files to your posts.

The below video demonstrates the two methods of attaching files.

1 - Using the Attachment Dialogue
2 - Drag and Drop into the message text box

Also take note, as demonstrated, you may now select multiple files at once.
Our current limits allow you to add up to 10 attachments per post, and no single file can be larger than 1mb.

Play video below for the demonstration. (Not embedding it as forcing it to full screen.)

Roger,

when you have time ....
Can you explain how to "capture" more than one quote in a message .....

If I respond to a message - I can quote from a previous message ...... and under the message I can scroll down the page on which the message I am quoting from is on.

Yet if I wish to use multiple previous messages - from perhaps pages further back than the one I am on .......and extract pieces as quotes - from different posting by different members ......how do you go about that ??

Thx

JK

If I attach a .pdf file, is there a method whereby the file is already 'open', i.e. one can read it directly, like a photo is seen directly?

Justin - I have been messing about with that as well.
Solution - the only one I could find......that works.
Open the file on your PC - then save it as a picture ....
and then add the whole thing as a picture.
I can not find any other way ....

Once all the pics are uploaded, click the "Place Inline" button in the order in which you wish them to be displayed. This inserts the [img] tags into your posting. Even if you got the order wrong at that stage, simply moving these tags around one can not only change the order, but also place the pictures in between text if you like.

That will appear on any image that had been uploaded before 2012.
