Lowveld Breakfast Spots

Unread post by Ruben » Fri Jan 05, 2018 9:05 am

Hi guys,

Although I don't participate much in the forum, I do try to read all the fun stuff you guys are dong in your Jabis. Thanks for such a great Jabi Club!

I'm based in Middelburg and would like to visit a few breakfast spots tomorrow morning, or just nice located airfields in the lowveld areas around Sabie/Hoedspruit.

Do you have any suggestions?

We will be flying with our ZU-IDL.

Thanks
Ruben

Hoedspruit civil? Runway is directly behind Spar complex and a short walk to wimpy and other food spots.
Graskop - Harrys pancakes used to collect and drop off.
Top Blyde Canyon forever resort - They would also collect and drop off if given notice and you used their restuarant, but runway may be bit rough for your aery if it has not been maintained.

Enjoy the slowveld :D

There is a very nice restaurant within walking distance from the Southern threshold of Graskop airfield . I cannot remember the name unfortunately.

Thank you Anton, and the rest of you guys for your suggestions.

I came across a few places after a bit of research even though they might not have breakfast. I alway like it to visit a different airfield. One was Hippo Pools close to Hoedspruit, but after a few calls and emails I could not get hold of them.

In the end I flew to Petit since I have not been there before. I ended up meeting a couple of nice people

Let still put down a few nice airfields to visit.

On my list close to Middelburg and located between Marble Hall/ Groblersdal is:
- Aloe Bush Game Lodge
- Raasblaar Restuarant & Lodge

It's called Kruger's Gold if I remember correctly, part of Hoyo Hoyo, they also have chalets there and they have started to build a boutique hotel on same property....
