Hi

Just something I picked up on the CARS update
from November 15
you now need a class 1 medical for your instrument rating, irrespective of your license category

I’m not sure this is a new thing? It’s not listed as a change in the 23rd amendment from what I can see (67.0.0.2).

It HAS changed since I did my AV LAW exam in 2017 though….

This seems like rule making for the sake of rule making. Not a requirement in Europe or FAA or CASA as far as I am aware?

When I did my RNP AP endorsement in 2018 they required a Class 1 medical to put it on my licence - so not new.
