Hello Jean

Very little, very slowly.

Mounted the starter motor and engine to a dummy firewall, removed the spark plugs and then spun the engine until oil came out the oil cooler pipe. Then connected the pipe and spun it again to pump oil through it.

At least I had an inlet manifold made but when I fetched the engine from the shop, it was leaking oil out where the one push rod tube goes into the engine casing. I am not knowledgeable on these type 1 VW engines, so cannot think how that came about. It has been standing in my garage for long now and made a trip across the country and back without oil leaks. Will probably have to have the cylinder head removed to get it fixed.

Groete

Eddie

My fuselage and tail plane are complete. I have all the ribs and main spar.
All I have to do is finish it....
Engine needs a tear down and rebuild, and I need wheels and brakes. Not a lot to do comparitively, but I am elbows deep in my Pietenpol project too.
Winter is nearly over, so our long days begin!

Some photos please Eddie!

BTW: I'm covering both projects with Oratex
