1) Take some time to learn about planes, airliners, and how they work. If you're on avcom, you probably have enough interest and knowledge to succeed. I've spoken to the interview panel and heard horrifying stories. People thinking that they're applying to be a flight attendant. People not knowing how many engines a 737 has. I mean really...
2) Work on your multitasking. Talking and writing at the same time. Basic stuff like that is useful.
3) during the exams, work quickly and accurately. Don't rush. Remember that safely is the main priority in aviation.
