traffic sms service problem

Unread post by brattray » Mon Aug 05, 2013 9:20 am

Morning all

Posted this a while back on the airline forum, thinking the problem was from BA/Comair,but after their investigation,it seems that it is an ATNS message service...

Story as follows...

My father has been receiving SMS's regarding traffic delays etc for the last year or so,and cannot figure out what to do... examples below

Futher Delay-BA6237/6236 JNB PLZ JNB route ETA 19H00 ETD 19H30 PUMI

another example

Correction on delay- BA6232 PLZ-JNB,Etd:10h10,N/Stop currently parking on the apron, bay no:7 with a "technical problem". Igsaan.PLZ

Diverted - BA6913 GRJ-PLZ,has landed,ATA :19H03,some of the pax will be disembarking the a/c,as per the pilot. Ingsaan. PLZ

It seems that most of the traffic referred to is in/out of George , PE EL and CT ie Cape area.

As he is a non avaition pensioner,he is getting a bit peeved with all these SMS's at all times of day/night.

They all come from the same cell # +27 83 386 5409

Any advise on who to contact to have his number removed from the database ?

Phone his service provider and ask them to block the number.
When in doubt...DON'T !!
