North Dakota House passes bill forbidding mandatory mask wearing

The North Dakota House of Representatives passed a bill on Monday that would make future mask mandates illegal.

The Grand Forks Herald reported that the bill passed 50-44. It next heads to the state Senate.

The bill comes three months after North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum (R) imposed a statewide mask mandate, though the governor himself had previously expressed skepticism over such a move.

The bill’s sponsor, state Rep. Jeff Hoverson (R), called mask mandates “diabolical silliness,” characterizing them as a conspiracy run by “unelected, wealthy bureaucrats who are robbing our freedoms and perpetuating lies,” the Herald reported.

So, the usual standard here applies. If it is censored, then it is evidence that it was 'truth'...

Did you actually watch this speech, and look at what he was saying?

Diamond Princess... Every passenger confined to their cabin 4 days after the first confirmed case, and still 22% of those on board are infected. And somehow this is an indication that it is not very infectious?

The infections slowed because all susceptible people were infected. Really? Why was there a second wave if all susceptible people were already infected?

Substantial pre-existing immunity... Yet serology studies (the same studies used on this thread to indicate the relatively low IFR) show that often 60-70% of the population had been infected in areas with severe outbreaks (which in turn indicates almost no pre-existing immunity).

And most of the rest of his presentation is innuendo - implying that because various organisations changed their guidance since the beginning of 2020 (when we knew nothing about the virus), this is an indication that they are lying - but of course definitely not related to learning more about how the virus works.

And of course he says nothing about Panda's own models, and just how ludicrously wrong they were.

The Belgian State has been ordered to lift “all coronavirus measures” within 30 days, as the legal basis for them is insufficient, a Brussels court ruled on Wednesday.

The League for Human Rights had filed the lawsuit several weeks ago and challenged Belgium’s system of implementing the measures using Ministerial Decrees, which means it is done without any input from parliament.

This seems bizarre... lifting ALL Covid measures is a little strange... so much for EU freedom of movement... Belgians wont be welcome anywhere and thats where the EU is run from its like watching chickens with their heads cut off right now... whatever ones view on this pandemic I am fairly sure that commonality can be found in the fact that no one is making sense anymore and that in dealing of the pandemic more damage has been done due to "over intervention"... lockdown, no lockdown, partial lockdown, total lockdown, school, no school, mask, no mask, vaccine, no vaccine, gosh this is tedious and perhaps now more than anything showing up the fact that you dont need any specific skills to go into politics

If you read the article, the way the government created their COVID restrictions was not legally correct. So it was an all-or-nothing ruling.

Still, unlikely that all restrictions will actually be lifted - probably new restrictions will be published following the correct legal process.

15.9% year on year increase in deaths. COVID the 3rd highest killer. No significant change to other causes of death aside from a big increase in heart disease. No significant change in suicide or other respiratory disease numbers either.

So it looks like most of the conspiracy theory predictions have so far fallen flat.

So where are the millions that were going to die from Covid? - Conspiracy theory are concerned with the false information pumped into the system so as to warrant draconian measures that "save lives"

The whole pandemic is and was driven by fear of the unknown and governments latched onto it like leeches. Untold millions have been impoverished and subject to measures that only worsened the situation.

My recollection of the whole topic is that there has never been a denial of Covid19 but there has been a huge outcry about all the false claims about it and the measures taken to "combat" it.

Quotes like "millions are going to die", "Healthcare are not going to cope", "Masks saves lives" and many more were at the order of the day and yet, we are still here, going about our daily lives with one BIG difference - we are all poorer and negatively impacted by the so called "interventions" to save humankind from the misery of Covid19

One only has to drive past one of our local hospitals where "unknown" millions have been spent on additional facilities to cope with the "so called" demand for hospital beds at the height of the "pandemic" - Against being informed that there was no infrastructure such as sewerage and water supply. the tender was allocated, the contractor paid "UP FRONT" and in all haste construction began until they ran out of certain building materials that simply could not be sourced from anywhere due to "lockdowns". Today the the project looks like a ghost town and affirmative shopping already visible as IBR roof sheeting are being "shopped" on a daily basis. The only positive "outcome" of this exercise was that some local yokel has become a multi millionaire virtually overnight.

I wonder how many similar scenarios played out during the last year.

I'm being lazy.. where is this graph for the previous year. I think we can guess where that comparison will go... (influenza?)
