will be interesting to see with how much LPG increased, if paraffin went up as well. Both used for heating in winter.

We paid R315 for 9kg LPG last month.

Some people are switching to paraffin instead of LPG for heating, due to the high LPG price these days. Only issue is the larger paraffin heaters (not the smaller "lantern" type) for residential use are hard to come by in SA, while still readily available in the EU.
LPG apparently went down. But having said that, the quality of the LPG lately seems to have dropped.

Time to go electric.
Now there is a splendid idea. Why didn't anyone else think of that. Have you noticed how liquid fuels still work during load shedding?

Did you even stop to think that maybe the poster was referring to electric cars before you replied ? The thread started out about petrol and vehicles after all. Try to be nice sometimes, it goes a long way.

Have not bought again this month...will be interesting to see if it really did, last 6 months or so its been increasing with the fuel price. In our area anyway.

@ cx45338  R355 for 9kg...bliksem. #-o

Thats about R20.12 per litre, if you convert the kg LPG to litres. Paraffin R17.49 per litre (June official price).

So it IS cheaper to use paraffin for heating now.

Just for info , the LPG price here has gone up again, not come down. Bought a 9kg for R317 a few minutes back. Last price was R315 for the same.

Our local Total garage charged R289.00 last week. This heater is worth its weight in gas bottles in this cold weather. This heater is about 20 years old and still works perfectly.
