What is happening in Sweden these days, it has been very quiet?

Whirly.
Sweden is doing well. Deaths per week down from a peak of +-750 per week to about 60 per week.

Looking at population numbers then Sweden is doing better than UK.
UK population 60m with currently around 450+- deaths per week.
Sweden population +-10m

SA still increasing so haven't received the peak yet.
Brazil reached the peak by the looks of it.
Interesting how the critics measure the success of Sweden in terms of deaths (many say slightly higher than their neighbours) which has been in my view been a problem all along... I would be interested to see in a few years time the level of mental health issues / escalation in deaths in Sweden vs. the rest of the world... not now but going forward.

Deaths can never be the sole measure (direct and immediate), the health of a nation of not a snapshot in time and the Swedes made some mistakes for sure but they didnt put their heads in the sand like the world did and hope that it would go away... they adapt and live/d with...

The one my mom is in, in George, went into lockdown about three weeks before the rest of the country, only about 20 people there and all still safe. Nobody goes in and no-one goes out.

About 300 residents in this setup. Not easy to control all movement. Workers, many food deliveries, etc, etc..and some of the naughty ones just go on AWOL..

Forced re-entry to the Coronavirus topic.

To the Mods, Please be so kind and re-instate the link for the controversial topic about Hydroxychloroquin. As a pharmacist in S.A. for 50 years, I have done many many prescriptions for Quinine and its derivates to treat Malaria, Rheumatoid arthritis etc. without any problem symptoms etc.

It is a known fact that Hydroxychloroquin has antiviral properties which can be viewed in any edition of the Martindale Pharmacopoeia. This property is undisputed.

What is in dispute is the use in Covid. The reason for my request is for the following reasons:

1) No-one claims that Hydroxychloroquin is effective ON ITS OWN
2) There is a growing number of medical practitioners at the pitface that are getting results with a combination of drugs that contain Hydroxychloroquin as part of the treatment.

Many countries in the world have not banned the use of the product and this unilateral censorship is violating the rights of individuals as it takes their right of access away without their consent.

In South Africa, I can sell the product over the counter without a prescription from a medical doctor as long as it is required for the treatment of Malaria, Arthritis and so on. If a patient wishes to use the drug as suggested by his medical practitioner, I do not have the right to deny the patient the product. I regard it as criminal for countries that require pharmacists to block a legitimate prescription (like in the US at present) I also regard it as criminal to prevent people from assimilating information and making their own choice from that information.

Thanks, Danie

Thanks Roger,

Thing is, it is not conspiracy theory but factual. The removal from media cannot be condoned as there is nothing that can be refuted (except maybe the one lady who is extremely emotional) on the video. It is based on real time facts and experience regardless.

We are even seeing the same here locally. Most of the GP's I know, share the same sentiments
