So, this morning on OFM radio station they mentioned this incident again. The reporter called the RV10 a tiny aircraft that landed at ORT. As reported by them, the pilot had no flight plan and told ATC, as reported by the radio presenter, he is just there to drop a friend off.

Anybody got the real story by now? Aircraft registration and pilot?......

I would love to own a “tiny” aircraft like an RV10. For me, size does not matter

Could someone with the facts summarize please:

Was a flight plan filed?
Did he approach under ATC instructions?

Thanks

I believe a flight plan was filed from Bloem to ORT and that he was under ATC.

This big storm I think will turn out to be that he simply made a mistake. It's happened before.

The fact that this guy can't spell "runway" was already an indication that he isn't a pilot. That's apart from the other "weird" language error...

I have heard that small aircraft are sometimes allowed in the USA to land on taxiways to not interfere with the schedule of big aircraft arriving / departing. Can anybody confirm this?

I thought the landing on taxiways was only for emergencies (not being late!) And then I do know that at Sun n fun and Oshkosh they use taxiways as runways but then they are Notam'd and marked as such.
