did you have ammunition with you? or just the rifles?
Apart from part 108 cats & cars, you will find some of the airports (eg ACSA managed / controlled airports) have their own policies & procedures and aerodrome manual, and then also try to comply with relevant legislation (eg firearms control act (plus amendments), the explosives act etc) and you are at the mercy of the person on duty and their interpretation (the clearing of firearms is also a contracted service - to whichever security company won the tender eg bosasa, G4S etc)

After watching the video above, the next suggested video was this one where Harrison Ford landed on a taxiway and also includes the telephone conversation with the tower afterward.

In the USA, ATC stands for Air Traffic Controller. Here in the RSA, some of them believe it means Aviation Traffic Cop. :lol:

Sorry for the late reply RB. I had ammo with me as well. I had to do the whole inspection a week later after the hunting trip on the way back also.
