Hi All,
If one's CPL(A) competency, along with the IR have lapsed by a period of less than one year, what exactly is the renewal process?
Additonally, the lapse has occured prior to first revalidation (i.e. last check was the initial CPL ME/IR skills test).
I understand from Part 61.11 that a revalidation of the Instrument Rating also revalidates the Maintenance of Competency for the CPL, however, I am unsure that only a revalidation of the IR (after a period of training at an ATO) will be satisfactory for the re-issuance of CPL Competency after said competency has lapsed (Part 61.05).
Any experience or advice in this regard is greatly appreciated.

Re: CPL/IR LAPSE QUERY
Hi CW,
From past experience with candidates who have had the same issue.
Revalidation of your CPL first (on aircraft), thereafter,
Revalidation of your IR on a suitable qualified sim.
Can be done on the same day. As an active DFE, I would not recommend as it makes a very long day.
Professionalism would suggest you get some preparation / training before. The regulations also require it.
