New 912/914 cowls done and dusted. Aircarft ready for covering. Wings rigged and done. Don't comment on the prop, was only used to get the spinner position.....

Hi Rocco,

OK, so after months of waiting and paper pushing we are finally getting to the point where we will actually test something. We have a technical meeting this week at CAA where we will finalize what needs to be tested. The testing dates are set for the week after next. Lets hold thumbs that nobody at CAA books in sick that week and it gets postponed again.

Eish, I am still waiting. They just have no regard for time or money. When you are in the wrong they are quick to send you warnings and letters but when they are in the wrong, what do you do???? I am still waiting for CAA......Getting very irritated by this now. It's been 4 years

New structural testing will be conducted within the coming weeks. The structure was already tested to limit loads before, now we are going for ultimate loads as well as a higher MAUW. Previous test have shown that the wings and cabin structure exceeds the required strenght so we decided to take it to the max that VLA will allow us to go (750kg) This way the aircraft could be used for other purposes as well. There is enough meat in the system. So for Amateur build aircraft you will be able to fly at 750kg and for production build aircraft you will be able to flay at 700kg. At 750kg MAUW we will have approximately 370kg useful load. With these kind of carrying capacity the addition of floats, crop spraying equipment and so on start to make sense. There will be a min engine hp requirement of 100hp for VLA aircraft.

this one has a Rotax 914 Turbo and a Woodcomp CS prop. Future models will also have the option to fit the Rotortec/Weber engines. These engines are already approved in Germany and produce 70-150hp for 84kg installed weight on the Turbo model. A new V4 is also in the making that will produce 200hp. I have seen them fly in the Rotortec Gyro's in Germany and they are a winner.

Our engineer fell ill and was hospitalized so we moved everything forward. Waiting for CAA to set the new dates but should be by the end of July or early August. All the rigs are set up at the factor, we are ready to go.

Everything is now handed in at CAA. In the meantime we did our own testing and took the wing to 700kg and 3,8g. Absolutely no problem. Looks like we might up the amateur build category to 750kg. Official testing should be within the next week or 2

I am happy to report that after many years of struggling with certification we have finally completed the ultimate load tests with CAA today. All test were successful. All first time. First design and first time passed. No re-building or re-doing. We did 4 test, 1 negative load remaining

All loads were at point A on the Vn diagram @12degr
1 - Limit load, symmetrical - Required load 970 kg/wing - actual load - 1030kg/wing (700kg @ 3,8g)
2 - Ultimate load symmetrical. Required load 1470kg/wing actual load - 1530kg/wing (700kg @ 3,8g plus 150%)
3 - Limit load, A-Symmetrical. Required load R/wing - 570kg L/wing - 970kg
4 - Ultimate Load A-symmetrical Required load R/wing - 863kg L/wing - 1470kg (actual weights were much higher but I do not have the numbers with me)
